Correct carb?
Despite being off a golf, are the 2e3's still the same! Thanks.
Why would the glass be anything other than half full?

Jets are certainly different

Re: Correct carb?
As well as jets ( which could be changed) the main venturi diameters are smaller also ( these can't be changed)
stick to the right one
025 129 015 with A,H or J suffix
This would work also I'm told...

Thanks for the info, just thought it may be worth a punt. Thanks for the link Itchy but as I'm looking for a kitchen table project on these dark evenings, I think I'll leave that one on the shelf!!

Itchy - this book of yours, does it detail jet sizes? Picking up on the brief discussion in Silverbullet's WBX cam thread, I'd be interested to know if it's possible to change the jets after all, and if so, what options exist for matching the jets to a 2.1DJ running this new cam. Also, there's a fella on ebay selling pierburg 2E3 injector tubes, but he lists about 10 different variants (all with the same photo), but can't tell me which one is right for the T25. Do you know which one is right, and what part this injector tube plays?

Thank you - I might just add that to my collection then. Not your one obviously!

Re: Correct carb?
My Haynes carburettor book arrived last week. As Itchy says, only the 1.8 Carltons came with a Pierburg with the same size venturis (22 and 26). Various other dimensions are different though, so would someone with carburettor experience care to comment on the effect of these differences? In particular, I'm interested to know whether any of the differences might be of benefit in the case of a 2.1DJ running under a carburettor, and for bonus points, what about a 2.1DJ running one of Silverbullet's new camshafts? Would any of the Carlton jets make better use of that cam's characteristics?
I've tried to summarise what's different below.
T25 DG
Idle Jet: 45
Main Jets: 102.5 and 110
Air Correction Jet: 50 and 45
Accelerator Pump Jet: 45
Needle Valve: 2.5
Choke Pull-Down (mm)(a1): 3.3
Carlton 1.8
Idle Jet: 42.5
Main Jets: 107.5 and 132.5
Air Correction Jet: 110 and 90
Accelerator Pump Jet: 50
Needle Valve: 1.5
Choke Pull-Down (mm)(a): 1.9
Choke Pull-Down (mm)(a1): 2.85
Choke Pull-Down (mm)(a2): 3.3
So, how likely is it that a Carton carb will just work on a 2.1DJ?
Assuming it won't, would any of the Carlton's (bigger) jets be worth trying? Which ones are even replaceable (I heard that some are glued in)?

Re: Correct carb?
Thinking ahead slightly, if the answer is something like "well, for a 2.1DJ with that cam you could do with slightly bigger main jets, but those Carlton main jets are probably too big", then presumably there's something suitable from one of the other versions. Even though the venturis are different sizes, would the 107 and 125 main jets from a Vectra 1.8 be a interchangeable?
So basically, what's worth changing, what can't be changed in isolation (e.g. what about air correction jets when changing main jets?), what will just waste fuel, what might cause lean or rich running etc etc.

Re: Correct carb?
Sorry no idea
carbs are voodoo maybe somebody will know but probably not
I think if you must run on fools gold you will need a rolling road and a selection of jets, somebody like Bromyard perhaps may have some pointer as to which, no point doing all this and having a knackered carb so I'd have thought you would be going for a rebuild anyway?
Or add a bit of money onto the cost of rolling road and carb rebuild LPG it, fit a lambda guage, tune it yourself
my lpg goes better than petrol now its tuned with a lambda guage (it is closed loop also but I don't think thats needed)

I disagree.
The DJ is just a 1.9 but with a longer stroke.
you would want the same fuel ratio heading into the cylinder for each of them.
Have you got the pierburg figures for the Astra 1.6?
