Hi all, i dont post much as i try to tackle things with lots of research first, so i have looked at the wiki, but if i have missed any bits let me know.
1983 1.9 wbx.
Got a video here
http://vid1291.photobucket.com/albums/b ... xpjpbj.mp4
basically, i have set the idle a little higher than normal to stop it cutting out enough so that i can film it. So when i start it, it starts well, but if you just tap the accelerator, you would expect the revs to rise and fall pretty similarly, but it revs up and takes aaaages to come back down, you can hear it in the video.
It has sat for a while whilst being restored, and occasionally started up to move about but only for short periods under about 5 mins.
I have taken cone filter out and it is clean, there is a new filter by the tank, starter is new, ht leads are new, dizzy cap is new, coil is unknown but works. Spark plugs are new, air filter is good.
Any ideas what to do next?

Is the cable sticking at all?
Why would the glass be anything other than half full?

i dont think so, the throttle mech springs back so it cant be that. I am going to get some wd40 on the outer moving parts tomorrow, and also spray some on the seals to see if i have an air leak too.

Reads like over fueling to me.
Have you cleaned it recently?
Has the air bleed (idle mixture) screw been turned?
When was the last emission test?
Storage causes all sorts of issues with carbs.
Most are to do with blockages due to crap and gum.
As long as you absolutely sure the sparks are good and on time, I would pursue the fueling as a possible cause.
Does the choke move as you press the accelerator when idling?
Does the choke work ok and is open fully in 8 mins?
Lots' of questions, tell us what you have done

Re: Running problems. cut out, sluggish
I have only adjusted the fast idle so I could keep it running. Other than that it hasn't been touched by me. Did take the air inlet off a few times to get a starter motor fitted but no tampering.
