untuned with intercooler

If I fit an intercooler and dont change anything else will this reduce the stress on my JX? Alternatively tuning with the existing pump is not easy, I read? Has anyone had a fueling pin machined to rectify this? If not what is the answer.

Reducing intake temp will reduce egt's and effectively make it run cooler. The jx ip is capable of delivering more fuel than it can burn but the lda is the problem so turning up the fuel for more power will result in smoke off boost. The best answer for tuning is a gtd pump from a sb or ra code engine and the modified levers and engine cover.
