Hi.
So my parts came from Brickworks. Nice. Hopefully fit this weekend. Do the seals need to rubbed with oil before I re-fit?

If they're not playing up, leave well alone.

Re: Best quality push rod seals
Ok. So all tubes and seals replaced. Still seems to be leaking. Think I may have pinched a seal, what is the correct method for getting the tubes back in? I was using the old pushrod and gently tapping the new one home. Is this not correct? It also looked as though the nearside head wasn't in perfect condition. The bit where the tube goes through almost has a forged metal shroud around each hole but a couple of the bits of metal where broken. Guessing that isn't right.
Also on the offside one - underneath the protector plate there is a consortinad rubber thing about 4inces long with screws on both sides and a bike-brake type cable coming out the rear. What is this? Mine had the cable cut.
Cheers

The thing with the bike brake cable coming out sounds like it is your thermostat, this will open the cooling air flow flaps, the system fails safe so the cut cable is ok but would be best to get it fixed with a new stat.
