Post by Budgie7 »

Thinking of changing my Porsche rims for something different, cause I am going the smaller bumper route aswell,
But every time I speak to someone they think I am mad, any thoughts ? [Image][/img]

I agree, i like it as is. However, if you do fancy a change hang on to the wheels and bumpers; That way you can swap them over again if you get bored.

You tried some red steelies with white walls and chrome disks?

A car port and hard standing too, there's no pleasing some folk :rollin

In my opinion, that's a 'modern' colour and the bumpers, wheels 'fit' the period. Do you think it will look equally as well with steels and steel bumpers? Get photo shopping and have look. Excuse me, I'm just bitter at the van's private space!
Why would the glass be anything other than half full?

I also like the look and stance of your van Budgie - think those Porsche alloy's really suit it with the bigger bumpers. With smaller bumpers, i do like these original steelies sprayed black, moon hub caps with a small white wall:

They are very classy indeed. I've refurbed a set os steelies, now painted black. Got a set of mint hub caps and am just waiting for some beauty rings at the right price, then I'll get some tyres put on them. No rush as I've not yet 'acquired' the Doka to put them on :rofl

On a van i did recently the owner did similar and instead of the whitewalls used stainless beauty rings .looked mint as well. also when/if you remove big bumps your going to have to do some paintwork as well, leave alone unless you cant resist the urge

I really like that.

What size tyres are you running, and what suspension setup?

Hi metalmick8y, I have taken the bumpers off, and you are right, will need some work, but I would rather do the work and make it right than covering it up again. Lower front panel especially. Will it ever be done ?
