Recommendations - rock n roll bed

Post by thebigcheese »

We are looking to get a full width rock n roll bed fitted into our panel van, but we are struggling to find anyone who really seems confident (and I'm certainly not confident enough to do it myself!). Seems that it often involves modifying a frame designed for T2, and we would also like seat belts too, which appears to add to the complication.

Does anyone have any suggestions of someone we could go to for this work? We are in Leeds, but would be willing to travel a reasonable distance for a decent job.

Thanks in advance for any help!

You could always buy a proper Caravelle full-width folding bed. They're hard to find, and can be expensive (£400-500), but they bolt straight in and also allow the use of rear seatbelts. Put an advert up in the Wanted column - they don't come up for sale very often, mainly because people hold on to them, but someone may sell one for the right price. There was one sold that way only recently, and it's also how I got mine.

I am probably going down the route of full width bed from Volkswares and seat belt kits from Brickwerks. Most decent welding/mechanic places should be able to fit these for you.
