The worry is that often folk take the stat out (or "modify" it) to cover up an overheating problem.
Let us know how it goes.

Yes I believe so. The needle goes to the top of the first white line and the hot air blows in nicely. Will have to whip the van up to 60mph and see if cold air still blows through.
Am just going to hope the old stat just got stuck and they bodged it up.
