Where do I find the PKN plate on westfalia atlantic?
Hi. Could anyone help me to find the PKN table that holds information about the birth date of the car and options and so on. I have read that it is usually under the left hand seat under the right hand rail. But not on the westfalia atlantic nor on my california, just holes with no signs that anything was riveted or screwed there. Could someone explain? Thanks.

Decoding of the (Westfalia) plate on the folding bench (top right)
Bild Typenschild
216 = T25/T3
119 = ATLANTIC pop-top
120 = ATLANTIC hi-top
(117 = California pop top,
118 = California hi-top)
L = Model year 1990 (according to the ranges of plant shutdowns in July 1989 until the plant shutdown in July 1990), (J = 1988 K = 1989), analogous to the chassis numbers! 00xxx is the continuous (Westfalia) serial number of the type in that model year.
no plate is unusual, if its not on the rear rock and roll seat by the heater timer your guess is as good as mine!

Why does everything I "want" - scrub that, need - cost so much?

It's a paper sticker under the dash, next to the fusebox, on our Club Joker.donciuz wrote:Hi. The OP is right, there is normally a metal one riveted on under the drivers seat (LHD) whether they all came with them or only certain markets?... Mine has one and was German market.
The white sticker by the dash does give you more info though.

Try visiting web site dedicated to Atlantic owners and information relating to the vehicles
http://www.vw-t3-atlantic.de/english/At ... /Home.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
might help you?
or http://westfaliat3.info/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Where do I find the PKN plate on westfalia atlantic?
The paper sticker is somehow missing. I have it on California but it is missing on this particular Atlantic. So I tried to find the metal plate under the seat which is missing on both campers. That is why I started this thread.
Tomorrow I'll try to take both front bumpers off to look for a plate with a bar code.

Ok. So I found the riveted plate with a bar code and two rows of numbers on top and bottom of the bar code. How do I decode it?
