Hi there,
I have not yet committed myself to solar power but I know many have. There is a wealth of knowledge on here, and there has already been some great threads that have discuss the ins and outs of using solar, be it permanent or temporary. I have just seen a thread on Facebook that meanders from the original topic of a particular solar panel through to low powered devices that would maximise the capacity of a no hook up solution. It got me thinking, wouldn't it be a good idea to have a separate thread or section that covered this topic where people could post about the technicalities and low power devices that compliment the technology?
I just think that If people had access to such information via people that have installed the items to back up the theory, more people may consider this. There is always going to be a cost to this, and you will always get people that will question why others may choose this option when you can get on the grid at most campsites for a very small amount of money, but personally I feel this subject warrants a dedicated area on this community so that people can make a more educated decision as to wether it suits there needs or not.
Apologies if this is somewhere obvious, but I couldn't find any solar info on the wiki.
Andy

That's brilliant Lloydy. Started reading the thread and 3 pages in I am thinking this is gold dust. However, this 14 pages could be compressed into something that separates the wheat from the chaff to give a very good (concise) guide to people that are thinking about going down that route?lloydy wrote:https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... olar+westy

I actually quite like the threads that ramble on, there is no right or wrong way for one of these installs. It's nice to be able to see everyone's ideas and pick and choose what you like. It does deserve being made into a sticky though.
