Clutch not engaging gears

System bleed and pedal adjusted....unfortunately not much better, still can't select gears. In fact the pedal only goes half way and won't go any further, not much travel on clutch arm. Forgive lack of experience but is it possible to over adjust the pedal to restrict movement and stop the pedal from moving. Before I take the complete gearbox out I did notice the bolt that holds the clutch mechanism into the gearbox was not tight and a few mm out, it's the exterior bolt next to the slave cylinder, maybe something moved? I'm almost at the point to drop the box but just wanna check I haven't over adjusted the pedal.

I think I'd drop the box anyway to make sure the release bearing hasn't fallen apart (believe me they can). Only you know how old the bearing and clutch is and if you haven't had work done on that area in living memory, it may well be overdue for attention. Its also possible one or other of the release bearing clips has become detached. Again, its worth removing box to check.

Think that would be best, havin thoughts of gettin the box rebuilt to change the gearing to suit the subaru engine and seems like a good excuse to pull it and check. How knows what I may find and will keep me busy over holidays.

Gearbox out over Xmas, bit of a mission but done. Turns out clutch fork had snapped on one side, had only been spot welded so poor quality part, don't buy rubbish it's really not worth it. Ordered a new one from RJES as Richard makes an improved one.
Turns out after much questioning of those who know best (Richard and Aidan) I had a diesel clutch arm rather than a petrol one, the difference is hardly noticeable but they sit on the spline at different angles, hence the bodged on the extended slave rod, the bodged one was 120mm to take up the gap caused by the wrong arm, now I can fit the regular 100mm one. Aidan has supplied me with a petrol arm and bracket as my bracket had been butchered and was sitting at a bent angle.
Just got to wait for the clutch fork and put it back together.
