ive had a pair fitted to the van for a couple of years, still fine but looking for some for the daily snotter and wondering how any on here have found them lasting as the van isnt a daily so not sure of the hours

Are these a straight forward swap? I have original bulds in my yoke, these lads have to be better

They are loads better,especially so if you do the relay upgrade.(its in the wiki)

Latest versions are called Nighbreaker 'Unlimited' ... One of my original Nighbreaker plus bulbs failed last week..they were fitted just under 3 years ago so make of it as you will...
Considering that its the first headlamp bulb I've had fail in any of my vehicles in over 10 years I would say H4's & 7's generally have a pretty long life. However, the fact that these super bright bulbs have a 'shorter' life span hasn't swayed me into fitting standard ones as I reckon they're still good for over 5 years on average (even though I lost one of mine seemingly a little prematurely)
I paid £12 for a pair of the new Unlimited's posted...(off ebay.)

I think their expected lifespan is up to 3 years. Vibration is the enemy I think. I took mine out when I started messing with different types of light pod and fitting a fatter power cable. I'm not sure I actually want to put them back. Yes they're brighter but all the other changes I've made seem enough to be honest. May leave it until next Winter and see how I get on.

Expected lifespan of 3 years? That's sort of 'relative' isn't it? I mean ... 3 years driving everyday would be more than 10 years for the average camper owner.
Probably more relevant if you use you van as a daily, which I know some do.

In the end its anyones guess. I read somewhere that Osram had to find a compromise between being bright and legal and longevity. I know they do a commercial bulb that will take the hammering you get on commercial vans but they're not as bright.

I bought some Halfords 120% brighter, buy one get one free, about 25-30 pounds, massive improvement without having to do the relay upgrade

Try it with relays and be in for a shock.
