Anyone on here refurbish power steering racks.

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

Anyone on here refurbish power steering racks.

Post by badgerfax »

As the title really, Have seen a few LHD racks but they are needing repair. Brickwerks sell the seals but looking at the Bentley seems as if you need about 10 special VW tools to fit the parts, so as much as i'd like to have a go myself that's not likely.

may have to scrap the idea if refurbing is to costly though.

Any ideas peeps :ok

Mmm.. Looked into this.. but demand seems low.. and the cost of the seal kit seems to put most people off..

Yep, add it the cost of the rack and the hours to do and looks pretty pricey.

Found these seals on Ebay.de

I made some enquiries a while ago and these guys came highly recommend. Never used them myself in the end, but they were very knowledgeable and helped me avoid the cost of a full refurb.
