fuel gauge needle disappeared?

Post by mattt25 »

Hi everyone, driving home yesterday, I went round a tight corner and the fuel gauge has shot up past the full mark and stayed there.Turned off van when I got home and needle went all the way back down, when I switched ignition on needle shot up past full again ,I'm thinking the float has stuck in the tank? Thanks for your help guys.

Looks likely that you have a dead short to earth there. Guage reads full at 0 ohms. Look for a trapped or chafed wire. Disconnect sender at the tank - if it still reads full it's the wiring.
