Suspension Noise

Post by T3Aljezur »

Hi
Hope I put this in the right section
I have an odd suspension noise on my 1990 doka
It's only there under braking, but no feel of anything amiss thru the pedal
It happens round a corner or in a straight line
It is non specific to front or back, or at least it's not obvious, but if I had to say, my guess would be front
If it starts to make a nosie then extra braking makes it go away
It sounds like a dull thud of wood on a stone but about 3 times a second
Could it be upper control arm bushes, thats the only thing I can think of, but would just like another opinion
many thanks, and I know it's not easy unless you hear it for yourself
Thanks

Could be. Droplinks intact on the end of the antirollbar? Check those carefully.

I had a knocking the same - renewed loads of bushes but it wasn't until I renewed the shocks that I found the source - it was the cylindrical spacer sleeve that goes at the top of the shocker rod had worn considerably.
