Got a stiffie and can't make it slack......

Post by Chiefy »

Lol, my sliding door handle needs massive muscle power to open the door and I don't know why???
It's really easy to close but the force needed to push the handle down makes me wonder how long it will be till it snaps  any ideas on what could be causing it?
Cheers

You'll definately break something if you don't investigate. Luckily the interior panel unclips easy in most instances and you should get a better idea of whats not right once thats off. It all unbolts readily enough.

Have a look that the latch and catch are lining up and that the door hasn't dropped making them out of alignment that would make it feel stiff, other than that plenty of oil/grease on the internals of the latch on the door.

Sorry to say we had the same trouble and in the end the handle sheared off. Luckily my husband did it and not me lol. Hope you can get it working, new ones arent cheap. If you find a solution please post as we dont want it to happen again when we get a new handle. Good luck. Janine
