Retaining clip for Temp sender

Hi all. Just a small query. I have replaced the temp sender on my 1.9DG. The retaining clip is a metal one which has sort of.... disintegrated

Are they all metal or is there a plastic version? I seem to remember replacing a switch for a mate and using a plastic one. could be wrong though... old age and all that.

I removed mine last month and it was plastic.
