I made a AGG conversion and I'm between 23 and 25 mpg, depending road conditions, hills and speed. PM if you want more details!

Dont go mad on tyre pressures, your vans wet handling will quickly deteriorate.
Lose it and then the few pence saved on petrol will seem kind of pointless...

As silverbullet said, dont go mad. The idea is to get them to the correct pressure, not overinflated or indeed under-inflated

I have totally even tyre wear so am happy that mine are about right, on a side note I always use the same petrol stations air pump ( its free ) but I also know that they can be pretty inaccurate, so if i tried another one it may read different .

A cheap IR thermometer will help but you have to be quick before the tyre cools off...

I think if you have a petrol engine, and can afford the initial outlay, then LPG is a no-brainer - it will cut your fuel costs in half. There's no need to lose internal space, the tank can be mounted in a multitude of positions under the van. But agreed, it is a lot to lay out in one go. A lot depends on how many miles you do, and therefore how long it will be before you feel the benefit.

Really? Even on a Westy, with cooking gas tank and Eber already under there? Without losing the spare? AND a big enough tank to give a sensible range...? I'm fairly sure that, when I was considering it, the only option I was given was to lose the under-bed storage - which would have given a borderline range, or underbed plus spare to give a decent range.

Agreed. Lose the spare, lose the underbench space or lose the "cupboard for hanging clothes". There are no other options that conform to COP11 (200mm ground clearance on full suspension compression)

You'll be lucky to get 150 miles range IME

The other thing to think about with LPG is the damage it does to the valve seats. All ok if you can change a pair of heads yourself but get a quote for it to be done by you local garage and you you may not be to chuffed by your fuel saving. Mange tout.

150 miles Ian? What size tank do you have, and where?
Our standard spare wheel tank is 60L (48L lpg fill @ 80%). Most customers report well over 200 miles range, with some claiming 250 or more. We can also squeeze a 67L in with a bit more work. Loadsa miles!
And I've yet to see a WBX with damaged valve seats caused by LPG. What makes you state that LPG damages valve seats, ricicles?

Andy: 52L cyl under the bench. Now removed. 2.6 SA but it did have a timing fault. Since rectified and now goes a lot better on petrol (performance and mpg) I have half-installed AC Stag 300 sgis, must get it finished and a decision made about the tank system.
