3 way cool box (royal)

Post by KINGPRAWN »

I have been given this cool box but told I didn't work ... Don't think it's very old and has never been used, on 240 the top gets warm but after a night the inside was warm not cold !!
The gas has lit but not sure yet if that works.. How long should it take??
Is there anything I can test ?? I have turned it upside down and fluid can be heard draining down ... Any ideas

A three way fridge doesn't heat and cool, that's a thermoelectric one.

So ... Having left it upside down for 3 weeks now, turning it over and letting it settle for a week it's still not chilling at all ...... It get hot on all three 12v, 240v and Gas . The pipe coming away from the insulated tube gets very hot but the heat stops at the little boiler shapes bit ( which itself stays cold) .. The unit is brand new although not to me, so I can't return it to the manufacturer !! Any thing else I can try ???

If you're lucky you may be able to talk to their service department. They may still help you. If not you need to talk to someone good with fridges. They all work on similar principles.

See if any of these vids help you nail it. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... dge+faults" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - faulty thermostat? Could well be.

Thanks for your input .. But explores all avenues and nobody wants to know !! It's an absorbtion fridge so no way to re gas it and I suspect the fault must be with the refrigeration unit itself as everything else seems to do what it should ... :(
