I bought one that was full of rust, it still is. Exterior looks awful, but it still passes it's MOT and I get to use and enjoy it.
I think I've had my money's worth from a £1900 camper.
Plus I bought it as a hobby to learn how to do some mechanicing. Have done all sorts and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
This winter, I'm going to tackle some of the rust, I'll never get it all, after having secured a workshop space and been on a quick welding course.
Just need to buy a welder and crack on, it's all good fun.

Just bear in mind that because these vans are so big and have such a large area of body panels, its a massive job to repair the rust if you choose the wrong van.

That's what I'm hoping-there seem to be quite a lot around that need a fair amount of attention to the bodywork-I'm not expecting perfect, just something that is in good shape that I can keep on top of without too much trouble. At this stage I'm planning on it being a keeper too, so just a case of waiting until I find the right one. I don't mind getting stuck in with the scanners etc, but with a young family and a road cycling addiction, time is always an issue!

Yes I can remember faggie, but unless you say how much, you are miss leading people into thinking they can buy a mint original van for a few grand. You know better than me, that is dam near impossible
