Hi, just finished removing my Eberspacher to service. It inevitably turned into me fighting through the corrosion! The flexible bit of the exhaust was badly corroded and split in various places. I had to cut it off the rigid part of the pipe that runs across the underside of the van. I discovered that part of the reason for the corrosion was the rigid pipe protruded a long way into the flexible part and the inevitable had happened between the two. They overlapped by about 220mm. Is that normal? It seems an excessively long overlap and must encourage corrosion. Grateful to know what other people's look like. It has completely knackered both pipes, so I am now trying to source replacements!
The other issue was that one of the anti-vibration mounts that suspend the heater box from the mounting frame has given up the ghost. Anyone know where a replacement can be found? I guess they are just standard rubber bushes, but would be great if someone has identified a source. Thanks, Mike.

Eberspacher Exhaust and AV Mounts
Hi Mike, I had exactly the same. Big overlap and spent two days slowly removing it from the solid bit of exhaust (see here https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... 5#p8024420" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
Still had enough straight exhaust after the bend to put a new corrugated exhaust on oner the top. I bought this one. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 0781721923" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
With replacement clips from the same seller.
I have my replacement switches and glowplug to still install once the rain stops.

Use flexi stainless all the way or use stainless pipe also - it isn't that expensive in that size. Pipe is cheaper than flexi for a long straight run. A pain though if you need bends in it.
What you had lasted over 20 years - how many car exhausts last that long?
Vibration mounts (bobbin mounts) available all over eBay, all sizes/types.

Chaps, thanks for that - glad it's not just me! If I don't need such a big overlap, then I might have enough good pipe left to marry up with some flexi. I'll give that a go and see how I get on.
I'll go and measure up the rubber mounts and have a look on eBay. Thanks again.

You don't need the big overlap - but I do advise using exhaust jointing paste to avoid any gas escape into the vehicle. And use a proper exhaust clip - not a jubilee clip, they are useless on this flexi.

Re: Eberspacher Exhaust and AV Mounts
I bought some extra flexi tube from these people also some white insulating sleeve from them,I bought twice the needed length and rolled it inside out so it was twice as thick and covered the flexi pipe with it and secureley clamped it on as I was not sure how much heat was going to radiate out from it as I routed it out it to the rear of the van, does a good job and they were quick with the delivery

Re: Eberspacher Exhaust and AV Mounts
You only need insulating sleeve when you have an exhaust in the interior such as on a boat. (But you should use solid pipe on board a boat as the flexi isn't 100% gas tight).

Thanks. I've ordered the bobbins and will get onto flexi-pipe, exhaust jointing paste and proper clamps next! Mike.

Re: Eberspacher Exhaust and AV Mounts
forgot I also used an insulation on the heat outlet as it was pretty close to the batteries and I did not want to heat up the under seat space, also it makes a hell of a difference as most of the heat goes out where it is supposed to
