AGG in an automatic.

Has anyone any experience of fitting an AGG / GTi engine to a DG auto van? (Not that I'm ready for it yet but pondering another possible T25 rebuild/resurrection) in the future. There is lots of talk of diesel bellhousings etc but an auto seems a different kettle of fish, is there an adaptor plate?
Just a ponder at present.

As Elvis says.. KEP kit is good option..
I may be bringing a scoob auto kit in soon for a customer, could look at bringing a I4 auto kit too..

Rowlesy on brickyard had an adapter plate made up for about £70 and used the wbx flex plate with the golf centre welded in.

I think a golf flex plate modified slightly to fit the wbx torque converter might work too if you got an adapter plate the right thickness made up.

Gonna be going this route when my 1.9 wbx goes pop eventually.

Sherman engineering in Australia another option?

Been looking at importing a few in next container under the back seat (need to grovel to me mate though ) and that makes them a good price.

Only thing is, never used one before so maybe one on its own first

still got the flexi plate after i converted to manual - i see your only in bromsgrove too so not a million miles away... i can give you a heads up on the auto conversion and make up pipe work for cooling the gti lump. i'd get a set of diesel bars with mounts and mod them to suit there new home. then you'd need sump and pick up off a diesel. adaptor cost 70 a few years ago but i cant see it being much more.....everything else stays as the auto intended. as mentioned above theres lots of pics on the yard of my build (still altering now) have a mooch and give me a bell if you want any advise

Thanks for the offer, I will stickl to the WBX for now while I gradually collect parts for a conversion to GTI.

there you go then - im sure hutch would sell it on if you wanted to hoard parts for conversion at a later date? he's a nice chap!
