Photo's wanted 1.6 JX Engine Under Tray Mint Condition
I have come up against a blank. Help me if you can, I'm trying to source photo's of an engine under tray off a 1.6 JX. I would like to see how it's finished off from factory before the mechanic's wreck the tray trying to service the T25 engine.
I've taken a look on google images, I couldn't find one photo. If anyone has one off and it's in perfect condition inc sound proofing etc. I would appreciate some pic's.

Why does everything I "want" - scrub that, need - cost so much?

I've got one in my barn, it's complete but not in perfect condition.
If nobody else comes up with photos I take a couple this evening.

Thanks for the offer. Photos are rare as a tristar on the road.

Re: 1.6 JX Engine Under Tray
Sorry didn't get on here last night.
I will try and get some tonight but if not I will get some on Saturday.
It's been sat up in my barn for 2 years unused.

Designed to absorb noise and minimise the 'bounce effect' of the engines mechanical noise bouncing off the road surface up into the main cab area. Leave them off at your own peril & discomfort.

Re: 1.6 JX Engine Under Tray
I bought my van with the engine tray in place. I became curious after discovering back plastic star shapes on the bottom of the deck? I looked on the brickwerks site to see sound proofing parts for the tray. There is also lot of additional fixing points available inside the pan which I'ld like to know a little more hence the request for members photo's to help. ~ no worries, I don't have any plans to drive around without the tray on!

Mine is no longer fitted because I have a nice quiet ADY motor instead of the JX.

Hmm I have mine behind the shed. It wasn't on when I bought it, doesn't have any sound deadening left on it and apparently when it was on it rattled like heck.
If I get time at the weekend I'll see if I can take some photos of it. I'd be interested what sound proof material could be put on it and would quite like to get it back on the van.

Re: 1.6 JX Engine Under Tray
I've been sent a link to this photo below of the parts drawing for a JX tray. Although its not 100% clear it does give a rough idea how it should be constructed
I am beginning to learn that these trays suffer from rust, are treated badly by mechanics, and rattle probably from being chucked about the garage. I would assume the trays are difficult to find second hand in good condition and complete?
Still looking out for some photo's of a mint condition example. surly can't be that difficult, can it?

Re: 1.6 JX Engine Under Tray
I picked up some soundproofing this afternoon from a local foam distributor. I have a massive sheet, more than I need so I'll see if I can use it to replace the existing tired soundproofing in the engine bay as well. The foam for a 1" slab is £45 + Vat. I'll measure the sheet but at a guess it's 2.5m x 1.2m x 25mm
I popped into a carpet shop on the way home with the foam to enquire about spray adhesive. I was told toolstation or screwfix would be better as carpet adhesive is not for high temperatures ie 80 -100 oC he said check the directions on the can for the max temperature or your foam will come off in the summer and notice a change to you engine noise!

Megavanmats sell high temp adhesive - might be good to ask them what temperature at actually goes up to.

Is that tin?
I would imagine one could be produced in sheet ally if there was a cutting pattern, doesn't look too complicated.....
