Upholstery
Our van has the original Autosleeper interior and we need the front seats recovered and the back seat repaired in two places. Does anyone know of a good (and reasonably priced) upholstery place? We are between Solihull and Coventry. Thanks guys.

Re: Upholstery
Good AND reasonably priced rarely go hand in hand. You either pay a lot or you find someone who is proficient on a sewing machine and willing to tackle the job at an agreed price. Think 'upholstery' and get your wallet out. Think 'sewing' and you may still have to get your wallet out but it'll be much easier to find someone in your area.

Let's not mix up reasonable with cheap as it depends what one considers to be reasonable for a proper upholstery job. One might consider for example that £700 is reasonable, but £1000 is a bit steep (depending what needs doing of course).
Good and cheap... Now that's a different question entirely!

Yep, like trying to keep mist in a box. I have no idea what 'reasonable' is in this context, or how that compares to another persons view of it.

Re: Upholstery
What is considered 'reasonable' to cover the two front seats in some vinyl? £500, £1000? I have no idea what I should be saving?
Re: Upholstery
id say £400 for the lot (front and rear)

We should all start to live before we get too old. Fear is stupid. So are regrets.

Re: Upholstery
Hope you guys dont mind me chipping in. Theres an old saying , pay cheap pay twice. When choosing an upholsterer , always , always visit them , see what materials they use and can offer you. If possible ask to see current work , previous work , web search them . You would be supprised as to what shows up on google.
Upholstery for auto / camper use needs to be done correctly. Dont fall into the trap of using companies that keep seat covers in stock ready to go. Each seat can be different from the last even though they are out of the same varient of vehicle. Tailor made will always fit and look best.
A trimmer worth his salt will have numerous colour cards to choose from. Dont be fobbed off with one or two cards , not everybody likes the same shade of red or blue etc.
Vinyl or leatherette retrims of front single seats will range in price from £300 to £500 with most trimmers , beds range from around the same. Full retrims in vinyls , ie , doorcards , seats and bed expect to pay agood trimmer around £850 to £1000 depending on designs etc.
Please feel free to contact me anytime for advice .
Cheers ade
Just some pics of how bespoke retrims can look.
