Diesel engine timing for T25

Post by willowarchway »

I have a 1984 1600 diesel and after taking off the belt the timing is now out. How do I find TDC as there are no marks on the flywheel? Anyone out there had this problem?

Look for the v notch on the clutch pressure plate, between two lugs, should line up with the pointer in the inspection hole in the bell-housing

Hi all,

I've had the same problem - the timing gear moved while the belt was off. I've read the replies, but my skills are a bit basic. Any chance of a step by step guide to reset the timing before putting on the new belt? Thanks
