Post by PipH657HPE »

I just ran a large cone filter, you can put it where you like then.

You can move the JX one I think, but if the battery is in the engine bay, I think it won't fit straight in.

Is this a Doka or a van? On a Doka there are more options. You won't get it behind the tail light :)

You shouldn't just put a cone filter anywhere IMO...
Always and especially on a turbo diesel you want to be picking up fresh cold air as a starting point. Even 5°C is amplified by first turbo compression then engine compression.

My Doka one picks up air from the n/s tunnel grille... the whole tunnel under load bed being sealed off from (hot) engine bay.

The original JX cyclone filter is very good as long as you change the paper cartridges say annually.
Nick Spong pointed out that you can buy a permament washable oiled element for them too... but at some cost.

or mod the aaz manifold so the inlet is in the same place as the jx one. filter housing then fits in the same place

Yes but are we going for an intercooler too?

Corrn. You won't get it behind the tail light easily... though I haven't done it to find out :)
