starter motor earth point ?

Having probs with what seems a lazy starter , intermittent click when turning the key.
I've removed contacts from starter solenoid and cleaned, replaced them now need to know where the earth point is ?

Nose (front end) of the gearbox usually. This is not a good place, prone for rust which is not good for a decent earth. Relocate it up near the starter somewhere, like between g/box and engine.
