Fuel Guage Senders

Post by JamesKT25 »

So i finally got my guage working after following some really good advice and info on here and the wiki.

However some of the contact ribbons on the sender are in poor condition and below half a tank it all get a bit vague, the guage will drop off to nothing then slowly rise again and then drop to nothing and stay there So i never know where i am at, below half a tank.

My dilemma is JK list two different sender units, with a date change as the option. But i cant spot the difference otherwise...

They changed the resistances of the sender in January 1987, if you fit a later sender in an earlier model you run out of fuel when you hit the reserve.
