My end goal is an electric conversion. I came across this collection of videos taking you through the process of conversion if anyone is interested. Skip to the 11th - Test Drive - 14mins for immediate result!
Range on this with its battery bank ~48 - 60miles. Perhaps for the future when batteries get better; more efficient/higher energy density, quicker to charge etc - or perfect for now as a town run around, perhaps with an additional 'bank' for distance in a trailer?

Any one else thought about this?

Re: Electric Vehicle EV conversion
Video been around a while. Fantastic experiment but to make it really viable, the heavy body of a T25 would need some serious modifications.

Who's going to make some carbon fibre body panels then?CovKid wrote:[T]he heavy body of a T25 would need some serious modifications.

I'm thinking long term here as battery technology is developing. Read about an interesting one the other day using carbon cath & anodes with an organic electrolyte, the boffins are in the process of upscaling to test. Cheap, light, more energy dense than a Li-ion, quicker charge (semi-capacitor type), fully recyclable and doesn't require the strip mining of Bolivia in the process.....
Oh hell, why not combine the 2? http://www.reinforcedplastics.com/view/ ... ar-panels/
