Shreks Ears

Post by Roydini »

Hello all :)

So I have dropped my rusty fuel tank and am ready to fit the shiny new one just in time I think, by the way the breather pipes crumbled in my hands on removal  I managed to label all the breather pipes through the wheel arches before I lowered it, BUT, I can't work out where the top Breather pipes (the ones with the 'Shreks Ears' as Brickwerks call them) go? There is one each side and they attach at one end to the top of each fuel breather tank, but where does the Shreks Ear end go? Does it just dangle above the fuel tank?

One other thing, does anyone know the correct orientation for the fuel level sensor that screws into the top of the fuel tank. The Haynes told me to take note of it before removal but I was a bit cavalier and managed to forget.

Any advice greatly appreciated, thanks folks.

Cheers :D

Yes basically, but angled sort of towards the centre of the vehicle and backwards away from the direction of travel.
Insert the sender unit with the float is facing forwards then lock it in turning it 90 deg to the right.
