Hi
I'm ashamed to play the dumb female card, but does anyone know who I could contact to give my camper electrics a good check over, in the southampton area ? Tried google! The kitchen light decided to smoke the other day then the bulbs blew, so I'm worried this is a sign I'd better get things checked! Know nothing about electrics so was hoping someone could help? Thank you!
Emma

Re: Electrics tlc required!
Any competent electrician with the right testing kit can check out the 240v hook up, sockets etc and issue a certificate.
The 12v camper electrics are however different and although competent, the electrician may not have sufficient knowledge of camper van leisure wiring arrangements to do it 'blind'.
If your camper is a professional conversion we might be able to point you in the direction of a wiring diagram which would certainly help.
If your kitchen light went up in smoke it may have been a fault with the light itself rather than the wiring by the way. I presume you have isolated it or the circuit supplying it?

If you can get to a big show, i imagine somebody would be able to have a quick look and tell if it is tidy or a liability, a quick eyeball cast over it would tell you that. Bri

An auto electrician can do it, but so can an everyday sparkie, it's not actual vehicle electrics.Knowing the conversion and getting a wiring diagram would help either of them immenselyjamesc76 wrote:electrician for the 240 and a auto electrician for the leisure side

Send me a pm and I can do it for you. A diagram for the conversion would help but not essential. The 230v side is easy.
