1.6D - Been having a browse around to see if anyone has has similar - guage has been working fine until a couple of days ago, but on last couple of journeys either does not work at all, or starts to go up as expected, then drops back to left. Only been doing short 10 minute runs but usually gets fully up to temp by end of journey. Coolant levels are checked regularly etc
Could it simply be the sensor is "stopping working/reached end of life" and getting ready to go out?

Re: Temp guage "acting strange"
Went for a run... 5 mins later no movement at all, but nice warm air from heaters. Stopped at lights so I popped the dash cover off and had a feel/prod and nothing... Gave the actual gauge a frustrated whack and voila! Sprung back to life and worked
at work now so guess the gauge is gonna get a close looking at tomorrow
