well we did it!!! after getting our van last week we just couldnt wait so drove the hour long jouney down to weymouth on sunday afternoon.
ended up at west bexington later that evening, you can park right next to beach for 30p overnight. there is a sign that says no sleeping but thought no o ne would know. its mainly used for fishermen to park and do a nightfish.
toilet block with lights open all night.
had our tea , a bottle of red wine and went to sleep with the sound of the waves crashing on the shingle beach . heaven!!!!
up early on monday morning to drive back and head to work.
evrything working ok in the van so well pleased.
can someone tell me am i right in thinking the zig unit recharges the leasure battery if connected to mains electric? and that when on the interior lights dont run off of mains , only 12volt

Depends on your Zig unit, if it has a 'mains' switch with a neon then it has a charger, common model no is the CF8 however there are some zig units that are only 12v distribution.
