1.9DG Routing wires for oil pressure sensors

Post by SamsBus2012 »

Reading a few threads regarding oil sensor woes of others has got me thinking. I have a replacement lump in my van and the sensors have been spliced into the original wiring. The blue and the yellow wires come from the correct connection front left of the engine but are then spliced into grotty brown wires running to the sensors themselves. Both seem to be routed very close to the exhaust (each side of the head) and have suffered some scorching. Anyone know the correct route and should they be run through a heat resistant sleeve of some sort?

The coloured wires come from junction box to a two pin connector (arrowed) then two brown wires. The low pressure drops down by the thermostat to the switch under the engine. The high pressure wire (arrowed) runs across the top of the head and then drops down by the distributor.

Oh OK, sounds like mine run the correct route, just seem to run very close to exhaust. Might look at running them through a suitable braided sleeve. Cheers
