I run 205/80/14C on Carrat Alloys and the difference in circumference is noticeable both visually and in the slightly higher gearing.
I am very happy with both aspects :ok

Not sure how much extra difference the size of 215s might make though.

One thing I do know is that even my 205/80s won't fit in the spare wheel carrier  I have to carry a std steely with a 185 fitted as a spare. This means I also have to carry a set of studs and nuts suit that wheel.
Got a new van, but it's a 165bhp T4 [shock horror] Accurate LPG Station map here

Yes - me,

Very very happy with the difference it makes to ride, look and gearing.

I have 1.6d gearbox and it motors along happily at a GPS recorded 65mph all day.

I have fitted a 1.9 AEF (skoda felecia) engine. Try a part worn pair on the back before committing to buying new -

I got a full set of x4 part worns for £80 fitted and balanced.

Best

I went for 205/80/14 but only because of their availability.

My syncro when using road tyres are 205/80/14c and they work well, but ive got a 2.2 audi engine. The Devon Air cooled has 215/60/16 on merc rims, a little over geared but it never was very fast so the gearing isn't that bad. In fact the speedo is more accurate on the Air cooled with these tyres than it ever was on 185/80/14c's

...and that's why I asked about the engine.
No good sticking big tyres on if you ain't got the power to deal with the gear ratio change

I am running 215/80/14 on rear and standard on the front, with a 1.9TDI engine. Has made a nice difference to the revs on the motorway.
