Best mastic for my skylight? Hints n tips please

Post by browneyes1311 »

Myrtle has been doing brilliantly since Nigs has been doing my engine Ives just returned from 750 mile round trip with no problems etc except for two first being that that when the heavens opened I had a drip drip from my roof which I have traced back to sky light.(2nd is that my speedo has slipped in th dash but its still working fine)

What is the best sealant , mastic to use? I think it looks like someone has used bathroom silicone sealant before which due to sunlight isn't up to the job.

Also as it is a high top what is the load bearing capacity if I have to climb up there? Im on a diet but dont think the skylight can wait that long

Silva flex ebt, travis Perkins stock it, as do other builders merchants so you don't have to wait for the mail.

You can also get it at GoOutdoors.

Be aware that it does have a shelf life - there's a use by date stamped on the tubes, so only buy it though when you're pretty certain that you're going to be using it.
