Spotted this when I was fitting new snorkel pipes and had the air filter out. A wee tube sticking out of what i believe is the inlet manifold, visible when you take out the air filter canister or look from underneath. My concern is because it seems to have spat oil over a nearby pipe. The photos below show the view from underneath the engine. The bit in question is the shiny little tube, sticking out on it's own. To orientate you, the jubilee clip is on the pipe from the turbo to the manifold, and the pipe with oil over it is I think the breather from just behind the (non-functioning!) LDA.
It looks like it should have a pipe on it connecting it to summat else... What else? Why? The more I look the more I seem to find missing from this engine

. But it did get me away for two weeks there, only shelled out £25 to have the clutch pipe reflared and refitted, and £20 to have the exhaust welded back on in that time
