It's a 112i, so it's a DJ without cat or oxygen sensor? OK, that rules one thing out.
You've tried a different airflow meter, which works fine on the other van?
Have you been over all the connections and wiring, looking for corrosion and damage?
Have you tried it with and without the ignition stabiliser unit, on the side - the one you disconnect to set the timing?
Does it idle smoothly? Throttle switch behaves correctly?
Does it do it all the time, just when it's warming up, or only when it's properly hot? Temperature sensor?
If that lot's all OK, then it could be the distributor sensor and wiring. Does it have a rev counter? What does the needle do when it misbehaves?

You've tried a different airflow meter, which works fine on the other van? Yes
Have you been over all the connections and wiring, looking for corrosion and damage? Will do tonight
Have you tried it with and without the ignition stabiliser unit, on the side - the one you disconnect to set the timing? is that the white box with the connectors that connect to eachother?
Does it idle smoothly? Throttle switch behaves correctly? throttle switch set, it has started a slight disturbance in the idle like it is missing on one cylinder but not all the time.
Does it do it all the time, just when it's warming up, or only when it's properly hot? Temperature sensor? hot and warm, same problem
If that lot's all OK, then it could be the distributor sensor and wiring. Does it have a rev counter? What does the needle do when it misbehaves? no rev counter

I think it's white, but yes - disconnect the in-and-out plugs and plug them into each other.

Re: problems with studdering 112i
disconnect and clean and reconnect every electrical contact including earths, contact cleaner and a tooth brush takes a couple of hours remove the afm and give it a really good blast with contact cleaner the track get dirty and confuses the ecu. if still no luck change temp2 sender. had similar issue with mine when I first got it, followed your path and now have a nice box of spares when a clean and a temp2 would have sorted it.
I also had a egg shaped rear tyre that felt just like a low speed misfire at the same time, I nearly dropped it in a skip and went back to splits but its worth keeping at it because when right this is the premium vw t25 set up

Well done that man....

turned out to be leaking vacuum hoses around the fuelpreassure regulator! changed the hoses and now it is running fine.
Re: problems with studdering 112i
oh no, the stuttering is back!?
changed the HT leads tonight and the problem remains.
what to do?
where is the temp2 sensor?

Re: problems with studdering 112i
There's two temp sensors, one for the gauge, one for the injection - down below the thermostat. If you disconnect it with the engine warm, it should go to a default setting and run OK.alidhojd wrote:where is the temp2 sensor?

Re: problems with studdering 112i
try disconnecting the battery and leaving it a couple of hours/over night before reconnecting
