aaz engine mount

hi folks,i was driving my van the other day and chatting to my passenger didn't see the dreaded speed hump,heard a bang from the engine so had a look and one of the bolts holding the mount to the engine block looks like its come out,its under the oil filter so ive not had a chance to check it thoroughly yet,my friend says it doesn't look like the right engine mount has been used,would be really grateful if someone has the part number or some pictures of said engine mount in situ,this is an aaz 1.9td and the right handside mount looking thru the engine bay,secondly the dipstick tube is loose,have got another seal on the way,to fit do I just pull the tube from the block and slide the washer and oring seal on and push back in the block?,sorry ,longwinded but just trying to be clear,(as mud ) thanks for any help/replies,laurence.

thanks andy,dont use laptop much,found images and they look the same but the mount on my engine has a small piece of angle iron welded on which has the second bolt thru it to the block,this one is still in place, is this normal,extra piece welded to mount for aaz engine fit?

Sounds like some bodgery has been going on, welcome to the world of T3 engine-swaps ! Closer investigation needed I think. Get the engine supported from underneath then take the mount off and have a look. Possibly the block tappings were knackered or in the wrong location and they bodged it. If the block was from a longitudinal fitting, it'll need a need a mount making for that side as the tappings on the block are different to the T3 diesel block. If the block tappings are knackered they'll need inserts.

Some engines were fitted to both Golf (transverse) and Passats and A4 (longitudinal), the engine mountings differ and the T3 RH mount won't bolt up. Your problem could be just rusted threads though. Sometimes people use bolts that are too short too. Always chase those threads out with a bottoming tap.

Non of the AAZ blocks were longitudinal ( passat started longitudinal, then when tranverse, then longdiduudinaal again) mounted with maybe A80 exepted but same layout so in theory it should work with a JX mount ok...but the JX mount is alloy and cast at that and the chance of someone welding a bit of alloy angle to it are slim? Anyway...the AAZ threads tend to suffer as not used and rust up...get it to lancaster and I will fix it!

Dipstick needs a sleeve as hole is bigger...either make a bush or adapt using a AAZ tube.
