Hi, I am under going a revamp to my vw T25 1.9dg that made a big backfire and now is really noisy!! . I have a ej25 subaru lump and ready to go in soon when I get a adapter plate made up made up.
I want to do most of it myself and wondering if anyone had a conversion done they could send a couple of pictures so I can get some idea how to mount it, then I'll get some metal and make one,
Thanks
if you go down the adapter plate route your engineering is going to have to be spot on, the TSR ones are rubbish and all the boxes I have seen from them evidence allignment issues, you will also have to resolve the flywheel clutch and starter mating issues, save yourself a lot of heartache and get the RJES bellhousing and mount and spend your time driving the van rather than figuring out how to get the engine in, if you have a manual scooby lump and starter motor it is straightforward with Richards stuff
The petrol gearbox can be used without modification, do the conversion be happy with it and drive it, gearing can be modified (if required) in the future when box is due a rebuild, change the oil regularly
If you do want to go adapter plate then investigate Kennedy Enterprises stuff that is good and fully resolved
Hi , yes I will need an adapter plate and flywheel, I got a mate with a CBC machine , so giving it ago making it.
Have sort of started making a mount but got to await for plate to come back to see where to mount. Does it look something like this
