Which Subaru engine do I have (from what donor car)

Hi, I have an EJ22 engine in my T25 and my local mechanic is struggling when he needs to get parts as he doesn't know the exact car/year it came from. I'm thinking it's from a Subaru Legacy 2.2 1990 - 1994 but does anyone know how to tell? All I can see on it is EJ22 (tried to add a pic but it says invalid, maybe too big?). It won't start currently the breakdown service reckon its the ignition coil, the part number on the coil is compatible with the model above but also several others.. Cheers!

Might be worth getting the ECU part number off the label and see what an Internet search turns up.

Hi Guys, thanks for the replies, I'm in south wales, I'll check the ECU for a number to search. I've also order the Haynes manual for the legacy so that might help too

I have got a cd with most of the factory manual pdf's on. Just not sure where it is right now...
