235/70/16 wheel and tyres
hi everyone I am going back to standard springs on my 1.9dg panel van and was wondering if 16inch wheels with 235/70/16 tyres would be ok to fit or would I be better with 15 inch wheels,i have spacers already,cheers dave

hi steve I am currently running on 225 45 17s on the front now and 245 45 17s on the back with no issues with clearance or turning so I thought with going down an inch in wheel size I thought it would have been ok.cheers dave

Even though 16's are an inch smaller,the tyres need to match the standard 14" wheel and tyre set up or the gearing and speedo reading will be altered....and with those massive 235/70/16 tyres you'd probably be able to set off in 3rd gear!
There's more than enough info on here and the Brick-Yard to prevent any guessing....
