Porsche 928 s4 7 slot wheels knowledge appreciated :-)

Post by Westy23 »

Hey people,

Just bought myself some 7 slot porsche wheels from a popular internet auction site, and would appreciate any advise of offset ,tyre size and adapter spacer, there seems to be 2 choices of adapter 20mm & 25mm

I have found some good info off of brickworks forum, it's the green one with porsche graphic on the tailgate.

http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/forum/defin ... page2.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

He seems to have got them on, just the 23mm adapters and then he says about a spacer and converting to studs?

Here's the adapters 20mm

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bulldog-20mm- ... 1c3d9dbc0c" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Then the 25mm

Is this going to be straight forward?, will I need anything else?

Thanks peeps :-)

You really should have asked those questions before buying the alloys.... :roll: :lol:

The offset should be stamped into the alloys and the same applies to the width as well.

As soon as you know them, then we may be able to advise you on how to fit the alloys....if they fit at all......

Thanks for reply,

I know these wheels fit because I''ve seen many t3's with them on, I even posted a link in the post of a van with them on .I wouldn't waste money or time buying a set of wheels that i wasn't sure would fit.

As this porsche wheel is a semi popular choice, I wondered if anyone on this forum has had experience fitting them.
The size is as follows. 7x16 et65

The guy in the link has the wider 8J wheels on the rear. I think a couple of pairs of 25mm hub adapters will do the job, with a bit of faffing around with bolts/studs of course

Plus when using adapters I would assume the torque setting from hub to adapter is the same 180nm, then from wheel to adapter should then be Porsche torque setting?. I wouldn't fancy putting so much torque on the adapter itself.

Cheers :-)

7X16 and ET65 require thicker adaptors than 25mm.....with that size the front wheels would catch the suspension arm.

At least 35mm adaptors are required to bring the offset down to ET30.

It is always better to find out what's required to fit wheels before buying them...
