Hello all
lots of threads about camber, toe in etc - but nowehre can I find out a dimension for tracking - toe in?
are they wheels straigut ahead parallel or should they toe in by ana mount - 5mm or what?
can anybody help with that - anybody there with a workshop book they can look in for me?

Detailed wheel alignment data for 2 WD models 1983-1989.
Front.
Wheelbase 2460
Front track 1570
Rear track 1570
Wheel nut torque 180 Nm
Track rod lock nut 50Nm
Toe in 2mm±3.5mm (0°20'±30' )
Camber 0°±30'
Camber tolerance left to right. 1°
Castor 7°15'±15'
Castor tolerance left to right 1°
Toe out on turns @ 20° 1°10'±20'
Rear.
Toe in 0mm±2mm (0°±20' )
NB. See below (HM)
Camber 0°30'±30'
Camber tolerance left to right. 30'
Of course....you have to make sure all steering and suspension components are in good condition before you start (for instance; there is no point in adjusting Camber if the top wishbone rubbers have collapsed.....as they often do)

what if your van is lowered and has larger and wider wheels/tyres fitted,what settings would you use?

Changes to wheels and tyres can affect geometry but aim for the same toe in. You can do it at home fairly accurately. Mind you, if its lowered you probably won't have enough room to scrabble underneath.

NB. Rear Camber should be marked as -ve... (top in bottom out.)
and of course most figures are load dependent.
The chart linked in the Wiki here should be good for a std. van.
Please take note of sign convention, do not assume toe = either in or out or camber -ve. Sign convention for all measurements listed in Wiki above figures.
Also note that the tolerances on some of the figures allow a range that straddles zero.. that is either +ve or -ve can be within tolerance.

If you've modified your van then look for any wayward symptoms and compare with those notes... e.g. whitelining, oversteering, bump steer etc
You can usually see how lowering will affect the settings pushing them into an extreme regime by studying the figures.
The factory geometry usually determines these things, so many that have lowered will be running at full load type geoms if they
have left things as they are. This mainly affects toe in and camber but different profile tyres will also affect things like scrub radius.
