Help.
I have had to change my clutch slave cylinder. While doing this the pipe has come off the connector.
I have now been trying to reconnect it for over 2 hours and it will not push back on.
I have now got break fluid everywhere which is making things even harder.
Has anyone had this problem before.
Brut force is not working so need ideas urgently.
Clutch slave cylinder pipe.

The pipe is made as one piece, if the plastic pipe has come off the end then it won't be any good, even if you get it back on it will eventually pop off when you press the clutch down. You'll need a replacement pipe the original plastic pipe is no longer available Brickwerks do a replacement rubber pipe.

I plan on using a m12 x 1 male brake union, a short bit of Kunifer, bracketed off the clutch brace and, Brake hose with femail m10 x 1 mm both ends that's 350mm long, then Kunifer for the rest,
As I already have the stuff lying about!

Re: Clutch slave cylinder pipe.
VW made the pipe flexible for servicing and operational reasons. There are times when gearbox may need to be moved slightly without complete removal and the flex in the pipe allows you to do that. Otherwise you'd have to disconnect a rigid pipe and bleed the system if ever you need to move the gearbox.Brake hose, providing its long enough might do the trick though.
A definate improvement would be the ability to put the gearbox on the ground with that pipe still connected if need be. Would need careful thought but make slave cylinder work much easier.
