light clutch and occasional reluctance to go into gear

Post by discipleofsketch »

I'm getting used to my 5-speed gearbox and mostly it works fine, but occasionally I find myself sat at a roundabout unable to get it into any gear at all. I also find the clutch pedal very light, maybe sometimes lighter than others -not sure if the two are related or not? Other times I'll drive it all day no problems at all..

Any suggestions where to start?

Have you tried bleeding the clutch hydraulics? Be careful of the bleed nipple on the slave cylinder.

I haven't tried that yet, but will start there, as it's worth doing even if just to rule it out I guess.

After a bit more googling and a conversation with a garage, this certainly sounds like a clutch issue, so I guess I need to get under there and look for leaks..
