Hi all,
Can anybody tell me the size and spec of a good fuel line or what I need please to replace fuel lines a 2.1 engine.
Need to replace mine as part of a process of elimination for running issues but am finding it a minefield.
I wanted to order from Brickwerks as I normally do for bits but don't want to order the wrong thing and have to waste a couple of days sending back and forth and as they don't want you to ring them its rather tricky.
Any advice much appreciated.

Sorry i dont know but an easy way to measure your pipe if you dont have a vernier caliper is to use a fixed spanner, 5 or 6 or 7 mm for e.g and see which one fits over the pipe, if 5mm is loose and 6mm wont fit it will be 5.5m

Size = 5/16" (8mm) inner diameter. Make sure the specification is SAE J30R9 or equivalent. These days I'm more likely to believe it if printed on the hose.
Here is some useful information on the types of fuel hoses.
E D I T: I forgot to mention that the inner diameter of the hose between the fuel tank and pump is 12 mm.

According to B'werks site it's 7mm between tank and engine bay, and 6mm for engine hoses. DIN 73379.
Btw, I'm sure Simon Baxter would say Brickwerks don't mind you calling them if it's to ensure you buy the correct part, which you would be. What they mean is don't call them just as a free advice line. I had one from Belfast this week with a series of rambling gear lever questions ("how do I do this/that/the other") that took me away from my job for over 15mins. I struggled to get a word in, but offered to book his van in and I would happily fix it for him - he declined. Imagine several of those a day and I'd have to charge my real customers £100 an hour to make a living - they wouldn't pay it and I'd be out of business! Anyway, sorry for ranting in wrong place but glad to get it off my chest.

For internal diameters I prefer to use twist drills as the measuring medium. They come in the half sizes as well.

This.
If you're buying from us just ring, it isn't a problem, it does become a problem when people have bought parts elsewhere and just expect us to tell them how to fit it. At the end of the day, you are buying car parts, if you don't know how to fit then you should be buying a manual!

Do VW tell you how to fit a track rod end when you buy one from them? nope! We often get emails from people saying that instructions weren't included! eh!
Feed from end of the filter is 8mm polyamide using 7,3mm FPM/ECO hose as a joiner.
We probably have everything in stock to replicate the original hose but we don't currently have a 2.1l here at the moment for trial fitting.
