Hi all
Im in the middle of re-building my 2.0 cu Aircooled after finally getting the main bearings but when i put the cases together and apply a little torque the crank locks up.The case has been align bored at some stage to 0.50 and the crank to 0.25.There is a new cam as well ... could it be that ??

It is often caused by one of the bearing dowel pins bottoming out in the bearing hole.

Make sure the dowels are located correctly because if not you will damage the case/bearings. Are you sure you have the right size bearings? Oiled them up before fitting.

Thanks all for the responces.The you tube clip is pretty much what i have done so will check the dowel pins.The bearings are the same as what has come out so couldnt get my head round it. I will let you know how i get on but work nights so not getting the sleep due to the bloody heat and so had lost the will to live when i had finally got up.......thanks again
