Re: Tin top Headlining.
If you ask the DB Autotrim for enough to do the pillars then it does. But you have to ask.
You can get the rods and witches hats from http://www.wagonbuild.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or if you put up a wanted add, one of the breakers might have a set in.
I'm really happy with the finished product.

Put a wanted add up, they can be made, but I'm sure one of the breakers will have some.

I've got some spare rods if you want them. Got westy head lining with more rods as well that I'm selling.
I'm in Hertfordshire (Potters Bar) if you want to come pick them up. Not looking for any money for them.
David.

Re: Tin top Headlining.
Mine had a few pieces of metal around 2cm x 40cm x 3mm riveted to the inside (mainly above sliding door & same on other side) of the van and it had small metal clips holding the headlining to the inside of those pieces of metal. Seen a few other vans done like that so presumed was the way VW did it.
You could make your own clips pretty easily or find them on most older car head linings. They look something like this:

Re: Tin top Headlining.
Great thread!
We've just started doing our headlining too, I've made a sample myself from the pattern on wiki, however when I install the old poles they seem to want to sit forwards or backwards not straight up to the roof is that right, or are they just a bit bent and old?
NB. The pattern on wiki doesn't explain how to create the edge that flows down the side of the van, however I think I figured out that you have to cut a slit before the end of the channel for the pole to come out and then the rest or the width will sit flush with the van? <~ hope that makes sense?
I was then thinking of folding under the edge and glueing it down the sides of the van?
Thanks

Re: Tin top Headlining.
I think the rods stay in place via a channel in the headlining!
