Installing the 1.6 diesel engine

Hi, I'm a T-3 Model 1981.
I have decided to replace the engine, resulting in a 1.6 diesel engine found; want to buy;


So, I have a few questions: :?:

1 - What is the fuel consumption rate (per hundred kilometers).
2 - Water-cooled gasoline engine power of less is more?
3 - To replace the engine, there is no need to replace the transmission? (Transmission is fabric, 4 ribs)
4 - In general, what steps should be taken to replace the engine?
5 - 1.6 diesel engine spare parts are available?

First not sure why you pm'd me a link to this, but I ll try and help a lil bit!

1.6 derv lumps aint the most powerful engine to choose, i would look more at 1.9 lumps

What engine was in the van before, makes a massive difference on what extra parts you need!

1.9 engine is not available.

Car engine was replaced.
Subaru 1.6-liter engine is currently installed

machine fabric engin was 1600 cc cool air afterwards switched engin and pitch 1600 cc subarou engin

I used to get 35 - 40 mpg out of my 1.6.
As far as I know your gearbox will need to be changed to a diesel one.
Re-wiring for glow plugs etc.
Exhaust system.
Engine bars.
And the list goes on and on.

You obviously live somewhere dry as there is no rust in the engine bay!
It isn't something for an out and out amateur to take on in my opinion. (I have no knowledge of your capabilities or facilities but the tone of the questions leads me to believe that you would struggle to do it yourself)

whether is power engin of 1.6 litre gasolene engin more or less?

As an aside - fun fact - 40mpg can be expressed as 0.059 square millimetres :D

Don't believe me? Type "convert 40 mpg to square millimeters" into a Google search box.

The units look all wrong: distance (miles) divided by volume (gallons) shouldn't equal area (square millimetres), but it comes from the fact that "litres per 100km" is the more conventional way to express fuel consumption in many places. Volume (litres)/distance (100km) does equal area. So 40mpg = 5.9 litres/100km = 0.059 square millimetres.

mpg = miles per gallon

35 mpg = 6.7 litres per 100km
40 mpg = 5.9 litres per 100km

Diesel Fuel consumption(1.6 litre), compared with a 1.6 petrol engine(air cooled), less is more? :wink: :lol:

I'm going to buy this engine ; Engine never been used for many years ; Is it difficult to set up?
Anzktvr system service, what should be?
Also, I'd picture engine

The 1.6 non-turbo engine will be slow in panel van and slower in a camper, you put them in for economy, not speed :)

You will need a diesel gearbox or at least a diesel bell-housing on a petrol T25 box, plus diesel input shaft (I think), plus other stuff like the wiring for the glow plugs, so probably a diesel dash unit/ clocks.

I need the technical information for diesel engine 1.6(Full Details) ,I need the Service Manual...
