Hang on...STOP messing around with stuff you will never fault find that way
you didn't mention you had the carb appart, we cant help fault find remotely without all the info of whats happened
can i suggest going back to the start and explain what you have done... exactly and when
itchyfeet wrote:the reason you should not just play with lots of things is you can easily introduce new faults especially if you are not experienced, you need to be mehodical
so how do you know the plug leads are on right, its nor just the order you need to start in the right place
Have you rechecked you have good blue sparks on all plugs? Take them out lay them on the engine and crank watch for sparks
itchyfeet wrote:
get the engine at tdc by looking at the timing marks and by removing the spark plug from no 1 cylinder, then you can work out from where the rotor arm is pointing which is the position for lead no1
The cylinder order and firing order need to be looked up, you can then see in which order the other leads should be

OK I have printed your pic and kevs pic of a golf and looked carefully and I conclude you have your leads wrong, you need to rotate them all one place anti clock wise to match the golf
of course the golf pic could be wrong or your dizzy could be in wrong but probably OK
